When you buy your embroidery thread (also called embroidery floss) it is in a thick thread made up of 6 thin strands.
When you want to sew with it you only use some of those strands. For most projects 2 strands is just right.
So cut of the length of thread you need, then seperate off the 2 strands that you need.
In this way you will get 3 lots of thread out of 1 piece! Woohoo!
